ESCOTA life-enhancing activities for older adultsHELP US ENCOURAGE THE COOORDINATION AND EXPANSION OF LIFE-ENHANCING SERVICES TO OLDER ADULTS IN THE COMMUNITY

Activities

Our monthly meetings take place at different sites, giving the membership first-hand knowledge of the range of service providers in Manhattan.

There is ample time for networking, sharing information, and learning about significant issues and changes taking place in the field of aging.

Meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of the month, September-June.

Experts in aging make educational presentations on topics of relevance and interest at each general meeting, followed by a question and answer period. We survey our membership periodically and welcome suggestions of topics about the most important issues facing older people today.

Past topics have included legal and financial issues, home redesign for comfort and safety, grief and bereavement, Alzheimer’s Disease, mental health challenges, pets, health and dental issues, elder abuse, and Medicaid and insurance changes.

Subcommittees, such as Emergency Preparedness and Transitions of Care, delve further into areas that are currently at the forefront.

Announcements of job openings are posted on our web site, along with conferences, meetings and other events of interest to the membership.
